No... Infact, I distinctly remember that the church He spoke of was us, coming together as a Body of Christ that is the church! Not the building.

It is indeed a very very sad thing to see a property destroyed to such degree. For me (as a Christian) the sorrow is deeper as it is my family in Christ that is affected. And I thank and praise our Lord that no one was actually hurt despite the numerous attacks and also the degree of damage on one of them.

Even the night guard (who was on duty at the Metro Tabernacle) escaped as he needed to use the toilet. How wonderful our Lord is in His the complete protection He provides to us ALL! Especially His churches (the people)

Having said all that, it was still sad to hear the building so badly damaged. I was thinking to myself, why would Abba allow this to happen to one of His property? There must be a very good reason.., THERE HAS TO BE.

Then, the reason was revealed in the show of support from Muslims & other Malaysians alike. A nation that can rise to condemn and speak against this atrocity will unite as a people. We will no longer look at each other based on our differences, but based on our commonality. We are Malaysians and no one does something like that to our people and hear nothing from ALL of us (even if the perpetrators are amongst us).

One of our pastor friend received this wonderful text from the President of the Islamic Propagation Society International (IPSI).
"Good Evening Mr Kuilan, I Haji Kamaruddin Abdullah of IPSI strongly condemn the arson attack of the Metro Tabernacle Church in KL. We are now prepared to protect the safety of the churches in Malaysia. Please call us. OUR LOVE AND CARE TO OUR CHRISTIAN BRETHREN."

I KNOW my Lord has plans for this nation.
I KNOW His plans are to give us a hope and a future, and never to harm us.

So, while the building is destroyed, I am glad to say that the spirit of unity is strengthened. And that is what we should all focus on. At this time of trouble, there is enemy in our midst hoping to tear us Malaysians apart. After they have done that, they will rape our country and pillage our people.

Let all Malaysians stand together against this act of violence and terrorism. Let us unite for our beloved country.

Prayer Conference Testimony

I thank & Praise God for choosing me to contribute the little things that I can do for Him in His work for the world. I thank Jesus for interceding for me in Heaven between Himself and the Holy Spirit, that is in me, giving me the ability to do what He has plans for me on this Earth. The Koreans are just like us, but the way they give their life for God is amazing. The senior pastor (Ps Kim) makes sure that his entire Congregation (330 people) has a life like ‘Christ”. They pray for 4 hours a day, no TV, their tithes go to mission work rather than their own building. He said that you have to practise the gifts that God has given you in order to be able to see the end time church spoken of in the book of Revelations. We should have the desire to have the Fire of the Holy Spirit to be able to SEE God’s miracles, plans, desire and Love for His people on earth. You have to repent and forgive to be able to experience the work of God in your life. He used the book of 1 John to elaborate on the importance of our fellowship with God. The more I hear him, THE MORE I feel, its like going back to my Grace class in MLC, two and half years ago.

Their generosity is like ours. The registration fee was only RM150.00 for 4 nights & 5 days for adults, children are free. We stayed in Vistana Hotel in Penang that is run by the YTL group. Our breakfast, lunch & dinner was really good food. When I say good food, I mean they have variety. Every 3 months the TEAM goes around the country and to answer all invites that ask for this type of seminar. They paid ¾ of the full amount of the seminar that caters, at the most, 600 people. Ps Kim believes that the money should go the people. That is our (MLC) Leaders Richard & Piek See, motto. As a young Christian, I never imagined that I will be involved in such a Ministry that supports the people especially the marginal Pastors, Leaders and Church that need the financial aid.

I thought only serving the church makes a difference in your life as a Christian, but now I know that my time and my gifts that I have put in MLC has been worth it. It was quite incomprehensible in the beginning to see God’s plan but after seeing Zoe Ministry in action, I believe and have Faith that God has more than what we in MLC can ever imagine or pray for. I thank God for this revelation and confirmation that I am on the right track in accordance to His Will cause I am just a vessel that is nothing but was transformed into something that is worthy for HIM.

Amen!

Inn Neo

A point to ponder...

Imagine this...you are invited to a party. People beg you to come. So finally you decide, "well if they want me there so badly perhaps I should go." Upon arriving, you see many people have come for the party. As you walk in you see there are people in the corner gossiping. In front you see some young men, eyeing out the young ladies. Further on there are some people singing along to a band playing, others commenting on how great the band plays and some others just lying around. Nobody really giving you any attention even though they begged you to come. Do you feel welcome? I would not either.

Sadly this is the state in many churches and the guest is Jesus.

Song is one of the most talked about ways of praising and worshiping God. The Angels do it, the peasants do it and even kings do it. How will you sing of His love when you see Him one day face to face? There is a song by MercyMe called I can only imagine, which states this exact question. They proceed to give some options of what they would do. Some examples are

"Will I dance for you Jesus or in honour of you be still "
"Will I stand in your presence or to my knees will I fall "
"Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all "

We all profess that Jesus is Lord and that we love Him "with ALL our heart, ALL our soul and ALL our mind" so how will we show this? David, one of the greatest kings to have lived used to rip his clothing and weep before the Lord. A king that was given everything, had so much power; was still humbled when coming into the prescence of our Lord. So what will you do?

Will you dance or sing hallelujah? Or will you fall to your knees unable to speak? The sad part is, let's look at what the bible says;

"For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them."

we are ALREADY in His presence but we take it for granted. Where two or more are gathered Jesus is there. He is joining you in your prayer, in your study and even in your song. Do we see it this way or do we find it more important to talk about the wordly issues like the people in the party were doing?

We ask ourselves why Jesus does not show up more often and I think the truth is that deep down either we are not ready for Him or we just don't care. Ponder on this for a while.

Are you in your calling?

When I was in London, I happened to attend a church service with John Bevere speaking. I sat in my chair eagerly anticipating the sermon as I had not heard him speak before but my friends all spoke so highly of him. As he spoke the message on this particular day, the anticipation left and I could feel myself sinking into my chair with each word that was said. It was a soul opening experience that left me breathless. Thankfully he finished it with some hope due to the great God we serve. So I want to share in parts with you the sermon that changed my thinking.

God wants us to build His Kingdom here on earth. We are responsible to cooperate with Him to fulfill His desired goal, which is chiefly to have a people in Jesus' image and likeness whom He can inhabit for all eternity. For this reason we are called colabourers.

"For we are fellow workmen (joint promoters, labourers together) with and for God; you are God's garden and vineyard and field under cultivation, [you are] God's building." 1 Cor 3:9 Amplified

God is the custom builder of His own house, "For the Lord has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His habitation." As the custom builder, you would have the house designed and would require the services of subcontractors to build it for you. These would include framers, concrete men, plumbers, tile layers, electricians, the list goes on. These are the men who actually do the labour of building the House.

If a subcontractor does a bad job or misses his assigned time, then the builder will call on someone else who can do the job. The newly appointed worker will have to come in on short notice and and possibly rip out the bad job by the previous sub. Even though a sucontractor misses his assigned job, the builder will make sure the work is finished.

God has been planning His house for a few THOUSAND years. He has laid out all the plans as to who will fulfill what role. He had to start with a foundation, which is non other than the Redeemer Himself; Jesus!

"See I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation" Isa 28:16 NIV.

"The Lamb slain from the foundations of the world" Rev 13:8

"He indeed was forordained before the foundation of the world" 1Pet 1:20

Jesus is not only the foundation but also the chief subcontractor.

God began the whole design by scheduling Jesus at the appointed time(Gal 4:4); then He scheduled all the subcontractors. These are you and me."He chose us in Him BEFORE the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love" Eph 1:4

He also chose us as subcontractors, for again we read,"For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do"(Eph 2:10) Notice He prepared our assigned tasks in advance. Everyone has a divine calling on their lives. Each of us has an important part of the master plan of God's house, so it is indeed important to know,

In regard to your calling;

you'll not be judged according to what you did,

but rather according to what you were called to do!

Here is an example. At Judgement's Seat, Jesus may say something like this, "Evangelist Smith, please step forward and give an account of all the souls I called you to lead to Me." That man may come before Jesus a bit confused and tremblng, saying, "Sir, You mean Accountant Smith; right? I was an accountant with my own firm. This was my occupation. I set up many church and non-profit orgaizations. Those ministries influenced many souls into Your Kingdom. Do You have me mistaken for someone else?"
The master may reply, "No, I called you before you were born to win multitudes in Asia to Me; give an account of where they are. If you had obeyed me, you would have been rewarded greatly for all the fruit you harvested for My kingdom. Now as a result, your works will be burned up, as they were not in obedience to Me."

Another example; "Accountant Jones, please step forward and give an account of what I called you to do"
That many may step forward also very confused and trembling saying, "Sir, You mean pastor Jones; right? I was a pastor of a church and had 6000 members. I built that church from ground up"
The master may reply, "No, I called you to work in the marketplace as an accountant and build a strong firm that would help many of My churches and ministries effectively fulfill what I ordained them to accomplish. If you would have sought Me earnestly, I would have shown you this. Then all the multitudes of people those ministries eternally changed would have been credited to you; you would have been rewarded for each soul. But now you will receive nothing for what you did, as it was not in obedience to Me. I also ordained you to be head usher at the church across town from your church. Had you obeyed, all seven thousand souls that this church eternally touched would have been accredited to you. Since you were not there, they are not."

So what to do? How can you be assured of what God is going to say to you about what you have been called to do. Many people always say the words that they do not know what their calling is. So how do you find out? It is quite simple really.

First: have you sought God earnestly?

Bottom line: Are you fulfilling your destiny? You may think, But I don't know what I am called to do! There could eb acouple of reasons for this. First, have you sought God earnestly? We are told that God rewards those who diligently seek Him in faith, not casually seek Him in wonder or doubt (see Heb 11:6) If anyone earnestly seeks God, fully expecting an answer, he will be shown what he's been put on the earth to do.

Second:Have you planted yourself?

This brings us to the second reason why many don't find the will of God for their lives. They don't plant themselves in the local church. God's word tells us, "Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God" (Ps 92:13)

Those who plant themselves in the house of God, whic in this life would be the local church, shall flourish in the courts of our God. An aspect of the courts of our God is the Judgement Seat of Christ. So we will flourish both now and at the judgement if we've been firmly planted in a local church. This is God's design.

It is the Lord who ordained the church, not men. Jesus says, "I will build my church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it" (Matt 16:18)

Think of the word planted. To understand the operration of the kingdom, you must consider the law of seed time and harvest. Jesus told His desciples that if you don't understand the principle of the seed, ground and harvesting, you cannot understand all the parables (Mark 4:13). Simply put, the entire kingdom of God is:

And He said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, 27 and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. 28 For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. 29 But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.”

Let's say I have a handful of various seeds, all of which are fruit trees, but I'm not familiar with them. The only way I'll be able to discover their kind is if I plant them. Once planted, as time progresses, I'll discover the nature of each different seed. God places in each of us a predetermined calling. He then gives us gifts to accomplish it: "For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable" (Rom 11:29) According to Jesus , my calling and gifts are in seed form. If I plant myself in the church, I will reach my God-given destiny. If not, I may use the gifts in my life for a different purpose than my Creator intended. So don't be deceived by success by the world's standards. You may be very successful in your gifts but they may not be in obedience to the Master's plan. Some examples; You'll see many in the world who have great voices and can move people to tears. Their gift was given to glorify God and stir people to pursue His heart and desires. They never fulfilled their destiny because they didn't get saved or were not planted in a church.

However, there are also people who have given their hearts to Jesus but attend church irregularly. They are not fulfilling their highest kingdomcalling either because they have not been planted.

There is one more thing but I will save it for another day. Use this time to meditate on these ideas and faithfully ask God what is the calling of your life. I did it and it has resulted in a career change. I ask you do the same, before it is too late!

God bless

Wake up Men!!

With the Authentic Manhood classes that have begun I have taken some time to look into what the heart of a man is really seeking. What are today's Christian men thinking or feeling? So over the next few months I will post some things I have learned over the years.

Adventure, with all its requisite danger and wildness, is a deeply spiritual longing written into the soul of a man. The masculine heart needs a place where nothing is prefabricated, modular, nonfat, zip lock, franchised, on-line, microwavable. Where there are no deadlines, cell phones, or comittee meetings. Where there is room for a soul. Where finally, the geography around us corresponds to the geography of our heart. Look at the heroes of the biblical text: Moses does not encounter the Living God at the mall. He finds Him(or is found by Him) somewhere out in the deserts of Sinai, a long way from the comforts of Egypt. The same is true of Jacob, who has a wrestling match with God not on the living room sofa but in a wadi somewhere east of Jabbok, in Mesopotamia. Where did the great prophet Elijah go to recover his strength? To the wild. As did John the Baptist, and his counsin, Jesus, who is led by the Spirit into the wilderness.

Whatever else these explorers were after, they were also searching for themselevs. Deep in a man's heart are some fundamental questions that simply cannot be answered at the kitchen table. Who am I? What am I made of? What am I destined for? It is fear that keeps a man at home where things are neat and orderly and under his control. But the answers to his deepest questions are not to be found on television or in the refrigerator. Out there on the burning desert sands, lost in a trackless waste, Moses received his life's mission and purpose. He is called out, called up into something much bigger than he ever imagined, much more serious than CEO or "prince of Egypt." Under foreign stars, in the dead of night, Jacob received a new name, his real name. No longer is he a shrewd business negotiator, but now he is one who wrestles with God. The wilderness trial of Christ is, at its core, a test of his identity."If you are who you think you are..." If a man is ever to find out who he is and what he's here for, he has got to take that journey for himself.

He has got to get his heart back.

Serving As a Family

Why serving together as a family is important? How many families are serving God together? What's there for me if I were to serve with my family? In today's world so many of us live our own isolated lives even when we are married. There's a saying that the worst feeling in the world is when you sleep with your spouse on the same bed and yet still feel as if you are the loneliest person in the world.
Today I was just thinking about all the great qualities of my husband. Many times the Holy Spirit has told me, when I'm angry with my husband, that all the great things that my husband has done for me far outweighs the tiny thing that's making me angry. Many times, when I'm frustrated and unhappy, the Holy Spirit told me that it's not worth it to be angry over small matters compared to the love that we have as a couple. I have learnt (and still learning) to keep my lips tight and think things through before allowing nasty words to come out from my mouth when I'm angry.

So back to the question 'Why serving together as a family is important?' I believe that it is through serving God together that I have learnt more self control, how to be a submissive wife and growing in the Lord more. With the limited time that we have together as husband and wife due to our work commitments, serving together becomes one of our 'together time'. By serving together, we get to brainstorm together, have intellectual discussions, seeing each others characteristics in dealing with different circumstances, have great conversations and a great time. The great thing is, all these things are replicated at home too. We have a lot more common things to talk about when we serve God together. My husband also seem to understand me more when we serve God together as he sees the tasks that I have to do and things I go through.

Recently as I was working on the workbook, I read an article that says kids that serve God with their parents are more likely to stay in church when they become adults compared to kids who do not see their parents serving God together. Serving time becomes a great time to teach your kids all about loving God and loving people. From serving together, kids get to see their parents not only talk the talk but also walk the talk. They need not do difficult tasks that adults do but they can help in little things that their small hands can do. A lot of times, things may not go as expected because kids are not tainted by law yet but being flexible brings great joy to everyone involved. We will not be earning more of God's love if we do things perfectly but we do hold our kids joy and character in our hands. So is perfection the main aim? I love it when I hear kids laughing unashamedly because then I know that's another block of joy in that little temple of God.

So in a nutshell, I love every opportunity that I get to serve people and God with my family no matter how big or small the opportunity is because I know ultimately Jesus is the glue that keeps us together.

A Year of Fasting

It has been an experience to keep with the fast. This land is one where only Christian people exsist. It is a loand where everything is right. If it does not conform to "our" standards than it is obviously foreign and WRONG. This narrow stunts many of us from growing in our faith and sometimes what is needed is coming back to the fundamentals of being a Christian. This is what happened to our group this past Sunday.

We were invited to go and visit the native people of Malaysia. To educate them in ways that may benefit them. As the seasoned travellers that we are we knew that a trip into the jungle would require us to leave all shiny objects at home and provide a chance to put on some old clothes and go and fulfill our mission work. What was to come was indeed an education but in the reverse.

We were met by a local pastor that has been doing some excellent work among the people. He has built a small community of people that are passionate and have seeking hearts.

From there we went to meet the people and were amazed. It was humbling to see the faces of the young ones when they partook in a time of worship. Just looking at them you knew that there was definitely something special going on here. These people whom we had come to educate with our head knowledge had become the educators with their heart knowledge.

After worship, the pastor allowed us time to introduce ourselves. Caught off guard we soon realised that our Bahasa skills were not quite up to scratch and had to rely on one capable communicator in our group. Yes, it was indeed a little embarrassing ;-) The children all sat down and diligently paid attention to all we had to say.

Next, the Pastor shared a message with all of us. A thought provoking one coming from the book of Psalms regarding foundations. That no matter what type of life we portray at the top, if our foundations are not rooted in a solid place, we will stumble. He gave us examples of a plant. It may flower beautifully at the top but if there is fungus at the bottom the flower will not last long.

<img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; Many are celebrating the fact that we will be able to chew and eat real food again. For the past two weeks, those involved have continually spurred each other on by asking the question, "What will be the first thing you want to eat when you break fast?"

Apart from looking forward to eating and chewing meat again, it's an ideal time to reflect on where has the Lord brought us to in this 120 days of fasting. Are there any breakthroughs, revelations, answered prayer or deliverance? Make no mistake that any fast that is unto the Lord is not wasted.

For our group, we have a member being delivered of procrastination, another being doubly bless in her work place, the EFCC work being given a car and another seeing the fruit of sowing seeds into the lives of his colleague. There are others who are tired, feeling that their character is really being tested and also finding the fast very challenging. In all that we go through, we rejoice in this time of fasting because we know that suffering produces perseverance, perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us (paraphrased from Rom 5:3-5)

So what have we learnt in this 120 days of fasting? Do not waste your fast. For in fasting we are denying our flesh to draw nearer to God. This is the best time to pray strategically for the country, for our community and for our family. Do not just limit God to provide only for our tomorrow or the next day, instead, ask, seek and knock for His wisdom, knowledge and understanding for the next 10, 20 or 50 years of our lives. Pray to leave a legacy for your children's children and that they may do the same too. Our God has already promised to provide His best for our future. Our part is to believe and seek Him diligently to claim those promises.

So for the next 2 cycles of our year-long fast, have you plan what to seek and ask for? Do not think small but think BIG for we serve an Awesome God. "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him" (Hebrews 11:6). By faith, we believe God will reward us who diligently seek Him. Again, do not waste your fast.

A Prayer for a Conference

It has been a while since we had a good prayer in the group. I always believe that the Holy Spirit should be the centre of our prayers and provide good communication with "Abba". After our last DLT meeting we now have a focus for our prayer life. The following prayer points were raised and by FAITH we believe that it is already DONE.

WE Pray:

1. That the hearts of the Leaders, that are coming, will be soft and open to the Lord's Word and the Power of the Holy Spirit.

2. That the attendees will hear & receive the will and vision of God for the transformation of the nation.

3. That all who attend will be empowered by the Holy Spirit and that they will move in boldness and courage to carry out the mission given to them by the Lord.

4. That the people will receive the impartation from the speakers

As for the people;

In order for us to remember what to pray for we decided to use an acronym HHH

a. Healing of the people’s emotion – forgiveness, submission, surrender to Jesus.
b. State of the heart to be open and ready
c. Remove all that is obstructing our ability to receive the Word of God

2. Hope for the future

3. Health for the nation

With regards to the Speakers

1. That they experience journey mercies

2. That they have no immigration issues and are blessed with exceptional favour when coming through the gateways into Malaysia.

3. That they arrive fully empowered by the Holy Spirit of God

4. That they are ready to impart the anointing of God to the people of Malaysia

5. We seem to think that He is only interested in the big picture and has no time for our little worries. We need to remember that God is also interested in the little things too as evidenced by my experience.

I had a minor surgery on Monday morning for the extraction of my 2 lower wisdom teeth! It was a long, overdue "task" that needed to be done! (with much worry and fear )
;-)

Before the surgery, I shared with my DLT on Sunday's meet, and with their prayers, I was wonderfully and amazingly "operated" on with no memory of the "ordeal" and "torture" in my mind, (as I was anaesthesized) by a wonderful doctor, Dr.Ps Ling K.C.
I had about 8 jabs and now have the same number of stitches in that little mouth of mine!

I now have puffed up cheeks just like a very greedy chipmunk that has stuffed a year's supply of food in its cheeks!
(Thankfully the Doctor has reassured me that the swelling will reduce within a week... Phew!!!)

There has been a request that I post pictures to show off my very "gorgeous" face after the surgery but I shall politely decline...heheheheheh
Though I look "funny" ..... I feel great, as with God's tender love and mercy....I have not and will not encounter any pain!

Praise the Lord!

Thanks to all for the coverage of prayers n love...

:-)

Update on Potential EFC Projects

Our DLT has finally gained a purpose and a vision. Can the two be seperate? That is what we intend to find out. We are nearing our first projects and soon will be moving and shaking. Here is a quick update on what has been happening.
Nascom and orang asli work first, let me explain; NASCOM is a national association of the senior citizens of Malaysia. Our DLT has identified the elderly as our target project group so I explored moving into this circle of the elderlies. After checking that they had lowered the entry age from 60yrs to 55 yrs, I just made it to be registered as a life member. That was like 1 month ago, but being a senior citizen association, things move very slowly and the manager seems to have lost my form.
On to the other potential project on orang asli work which we will do together with the GEL, as they are dealing with children. We have identified 2 areas 1)at Kota Damansara and in Kuala Kubu Bahru.
Our 2 groups intend to make an exploratory trip on Sunday 17/5/09 to KKB as we have a pastor contact there and we hope to bring materials and spiritual blessings to them.

Smoothies recipes

For those running out of ideas for our 40 day liquid fast. It was a great time of fellowship before we knuckled down to business.

First on the agenda were some praise reports from the team members on what they have received from the Lord during their time of fasting. The team, together with many other Small Groups throughout the country, have answered a call to fast for 360 days. This would be exercised through a cycle of nine 40 day fasts. Starting from skipping one meal a day and continuing to a full three meal a day fast.

Next up was a discussion on what our group project would be. There was much talk but unfortunately due to the vast array of projects mentioned, consenus could not be reached. Each member has a heart for something but as a group we need to channel our focus into ONLY one for NOW. By the next meeting post we will have our project and will be posting progress...in Jesus Name... Amen!!

What could follow such a discussion but time alone with the Lord...prayer time!! Sister Piek See led us into the courts and then each of the members took turns to pour their hearts out to God. There were words of love, passion and comfort to name just a few. After an intense Spirit-filled prayer time, with words of encouragement and wisdom, Sister Piek See enlightened us of the days that are to come - 40 days liquid fast! She told us that these days are not going to be easy and will be filled with lots of temptations to quit and loose words especially among married couples that we should be steadfast and remember the bigger cause.

At the end of the meeting, people left with high spirits and renewed faith to face the upcoming challenge knowing that Jesus is their ROCK.

Unlock Your Potential

<img style="display:block;
